4 girls and a seven-month-old youngster have died after the canoe they had been boarding from Nguru, Yobe State, to Adiyani Village within the Guri Native Authorities Space of Jigawa State, capsized on Tuesday.
The state police public relations officer, DSP Lawan Adam, confirmed the event in a press release on Wednesday.
He mentioned the canoe capsized when the victims had been nearing their vacation spot, including that in the course of the accident the helmsman escaped, whereas the passengers drowned.
